BREAKING NEWS: Everton set to sign another striker after Beto following Sat PM development

Everton get major Che Adams transfer boost after he’s left out of Southampton squad following manager comments

That old saying about waiting for London buses and then two come along at once, well that could be Everton and striker signings this summer.

The club have been linked to a host of strikers this summer and they finally look to be closing in on one after it was reported in Italy that Udinese striker Beto is set for a medical on Sunday (27 August) ahead of a £25.7m move.

Many expected that would be the addition that Sean Dyche wanted most, but it now seems possible that a move for Che Adams has edged forwards a little bit more in the last 24 hours too.

Saints boss Russell Martin spoke on Friday afternoon about the future of the Scotland international, with Everton having tabled a £12m bid for his services but the Championship side holding out for £18m.

“Ideally he will be in the team tomorrow [Saturday] but if he’s not it will be because the situation has developed a bit,” he said.

On Saturday afternoon at 2pm when the Southampton team news dropped, Adams’ name was nowhere to be seen.

That suggests that there has been development on his transfer situation, and with Everton the team said to be the furthest along the line for a potential deal then it’s safe to assume it’s them who have made the move.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury problems have been well documented in recent years and after suffering a broken cheekbone against Aston Villa, he’s set for some more time on the sidelines.

Dyche doesn’t want Neal Maupay to be the man he has to turn to, and fairly so too after his performances since signing and it now seems as though he could be getting two players in.

Adams and Beto would be excellent business and Everton fans would be delighted if that were the case, so there is definitely something to keep an eye on in the next few days.
