Fabrizio Romano says Leeds have now made bid for player Farke really wants, four-year-deal on table

Leeds United have tabled an offer for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Nadiem Amiri.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who reports Daniel Farke is the driving force behind the deal with the Leeds boss extremely keen on bringing him to Elland Road.

A potential transfer now rests on the shoulders of Amiri, with Leeds having offered him a four-year-deal to make the move to West Yorkshire.

Leeds remain determined to add to their midfield options before next Friday’s 11pm deadline and have also been linked with Lewis O’Brien and Glen Kamara in recent days.

Amiri, though, would provide Farke’s squad with that number 10 it has been craving during his early days in the dugout at Leeds.

Leeds are still yet to replace the creative void left by Pablo Hernandez upon his departure from the Whites back in 2021.

Amiri would go a long way to solving that with the 26-year-old best known for his quality in possession, which is clearly why Farke wants to bring him into his squad.

Amiri has spent the entirety of his professional career at the top level and would represent quite a coup having been capped five times by Germany.

He also has over 200 Bundesliga appearances under his belt across spells at Hoffenheim and Leverkusen respectively, scoring 19 goals and providing 25 assists.

It is now down to Leeds to ensure they get it over the line and convince Amiri this is the right career move.
