Fabrizio Romano’s latest update could be a massive boost for Leeds’ pursuit of PL player

Leeds United have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Newcastle United’s Karl Darlow with Bournemouth having agreed to sign an alternative.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Cherries have agreed a deal to sign Andrei Radu on loan from Inter Milan, with medicals set to take place on Wednesday.

This time last week, Bournemouth had emerged as favourites ahead of Leeds to sign Darlow from Newcastle in their search for a new goalkeeper.

However, this latest update would indicate they have indeed turned their attention away from Darlow, handing Leeds a clear path to seal his signature.

Bournemouth are on the hunt for a new number two this summer to provide cover and competition for Neto, and it appears as though Radu will now be that man.

Leeds handed Darlow boost as Bournemouth set to sign Darlow

Leeds now appear to have an almost free run at Darlow with Hull City and Middlesbrough having already pulled out of the race.

As mentioned, Bournemouth were clear front-runners in the race last week but their signing of a different goalkeeper is a huge boost to Leeds’ hopes.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds are hopeful of completing a deal to sign a new shot-stopper in the coming days.

All signs are now pointing towards it being Darlow, though he is currently away in the United States for pre-season with Newcastle.

Darlow would provide an abundance of Championship experience to Leeds and these next few hours could well be telling in whether he makes the Elland Road switch.
