The Cleveland Browns seem to be in lots of trouble now that quarterback Deshaun Watson has been declared out for the season with a shoulder injury.

Reportedly, they will start Dorian Thompson-Robinson, a rookie who has only one career start so far, when they face their bitter rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers, this week

Some have called for the Browns to sign a veteran QB in order to maintain their chances of making the playoffs, and one of them — Robert Griffin III — has publicly asked them to bring him in, per Dov Kleiman.

Griffin said that he can do a lot of what he has seen Watson do this season, and he also claimed that he can still run the 40-yard dash in just 4.3 seconds and that he does the same type of training that active NFL players engage in.

He entered the league in 2012 as the No. 2 overall pick amidst lots of excitement, and it looked like he was going to infuse a struggling Washington Redskins franchise with hope and direction.

But after putting up 3,200 passing yards and 20 passing touchdowns in 15 games, he suffered a serious knee injury that was an aggravation of one he had sustained just a couple of weeks earlier, and it proved to be the beginning of the end of his career

Griffin would play six more seasons, but he never regained his old form.

He hasn’t played since 2020, when he was in his third season with the Baltimore Ravens as a backup to Lamar Jackson, and he has been an ESPN analyst for the last couple of years.
