BREAKING NEWS: Free agents Leicester City set to sign outside transfer window

Latest Leicester City news from LeicestershireLive highlights the out of contract players who could still end up at the King Power Stadium even though summer transfer window has close.

The summer transfer window may be closed, but that doesn’t mean Leicester City are barred from adding further recruits to their squad if they wish to.

Enzo Maresca brought nine players to the club during the summer window. Harry Winks, Conor Coady, Callum Doyle, Mads Hermansen, Stephy Mavididi, Cesare Casadei, Yunus Akgun, Abdul Fatuwu and Tom Cannon all arrived before the September 1 deadline as the new manager refreshed his squad.

While it seems that City’s business is now finished, they can always turn to the free agent market should an opportunity become available. Free agents can be signed by clubs outside of the transfer window.

A problem for City would be the impact any late arrival would have on their 25-man squad submitted to the EFL. A senior player would have to be omitted to accommodate any newcomers. Only under-21s players, such as deadline day signing Tom Cannon, do not have to be included.
