Fulham join West Ham United in the chase for Dominic Solanke
Fulham are all set to battle it out with West Ham United for the services of 25-year-old Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke.
According to a report by Football Insider, Fulham and West Ham United are both keen on having Dominic Solanke in their ranks. Both Premier League clubs are looking to bolster their attack before the end of the transfer window and have their eyes set on the England international.
The Hammers have been linked with the 25-year-old Bournemouth striker for a while now and have already submitted a bid. Meanwhile, Fulham have recently joined the race for his services but their interest is concrete and they are expected to battle it out with West Ham for his signatures.
Solanke came through the ranks at Chelsea before joining Liverpool in the summer of 2017. His move to the Merseyside club didn’t go according to plan and in 18 months’ time, he left them for Bournemouth
The 25-year-old has gone from strength to strength since joining the Cherries and he has been in great form over the past 24 months. Last season, the England international featured in a total of 35 matches and contributed towards 14 goals
He played a major role in helping Bournemouth survive the drop and has now kicked off the new season in fine form with two goal contributions in two outings. While his contract with the Cherries runs until the summer of 2026, both Fulham and West Ham are looking to prize him away from the club.
The Hammers didn’t have the best of seasons last time out and one of their major concerns was the form of their forwards. As a result, they have been looking for more firepower of late.
Meanwhile, the Cottagers have recently parted ways with their star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic who has joined Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal in a club-record deal. His departure has left a void that they want to fill by signing Solanke.
According to the report, the Hammers have already submitted a bid in the region of £35-40 million. While Fulham have not made an official bid yet, they are ready to offer around £25-30 million for Solanke.
The Cottagers are not ready to meet the bid submitted by David Moyes’ team. As a result, the Hammers are in pole position to land him at the club. But, their offer hasn’t been accepted yet as Bournemouth are not ready to part ways with their star striker in the final few days of the transfer window.
