Former Premier League midfielder Paul Merson is tipping Fulham to beat Manchester United this weekend.
Manchester United are in a desperate state right now. This season there have been more losses than wins, and every performances is painful.
Erik ten Hag‘s side are struggling to score goals and are conceding too many. And they look totally miserable as they do it too.
Paul Merson is predicting more misery for Manchester United this weekend, when the Red Devils travel to Fulham.
Fulham v Manchester United
Speaking to Sportskeeda, Paul Merson says he is predicting Manchester United will lose 1-0 to Fulham this weekend in Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off.
He explained: “As for Erik ten Hag, I’m not in agreement with the way he treats his players. Man management is just as important as coaching and he comes off as someone who doesn’t want to be questioned regardless of the situation.
“There’s a lot of pressure on him and I think it’s going to get a lot worse, so I’m going for a Fulham win.”
A big test for Manchester United
Manchester United won 2-1 at Fulham last season after an injury time goal from Alejandro Garnacho.
This was the only away game Manchester United won against a team who finished inside the top 10 in the Premier League last season.
United have not redressed this poor away record against the top teams yet, and anything less than three points against Fulham at the weekend will feel like another backwards step for Erik ten Hag’s side.
A win against Fulham won’t prove United ‘are back’, but it will show some character, and perhaps stave off the inevitable for a little longer.
