‘Furious’ – Coventry City boss lays down the law on outgoing transfer deals

Coventry City transfer news from CoventryLive as Sky Blues boss Mark Robins outlines his stance on outgoing players on deadline day

Mark Robins insists he’ll be “furious” if Coventry City accept any late transfer deadline day bids for any of his players.

The Sky Blues boss is desperately hoping to boost his squad number today with two more new signings, with a centre-back and central midfielder wanted, although club owner Doug King says City will only be signing one more.

As for outgoing business, the only player who is available for transfer is third choice goalkeeper Simon Moore. European transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano claimed in-form Kasey Palmer was set to be a target for Norwich City earlier this week, albeit that being dismissed by the local press in Norfolk, while another self-professed transfer specialist claimed on Thursday that Jake Bidwell could be on his way as the summer window draws to a close.

Asked if he’s expecting any late bids for any of his players, Robins told CoventryLive: “There won’t be anybody leaving; there can’t be anybody leaving otherwise we would be short. I would be furious if that happened. I’d be furious and it shouldn’t happen. It’s not been spoken about so I can’t see that happening.

“In terms of the numbers we’re still short, there’s no doubt, but we’re trying. If we can add we will but we shouldn’t be losing players and I don’t think we will, and that’s it really, I can’t see anyone going.”
