During the summer transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur made the decision to trade Harry Kane to Bayern Munich.

Daniel Levy, the club’s chairman, has now spoken out about the transfer and said that the 30-year-old declined to sign a contract extension with the team because he sought a new challenge.

Levy added that Tottenham reluctantly agreed to let the player leave, but he also heaped praise on the 86-cap England international for his professionalism and contributions during his time at the club.

Kane spent 19 years at Tottenham and Levy has revealed that he is a valued member of the Spurs family and he will forever be a part of the club’s history. The Tottenham chairman also revealed that the North London outfit have a buyback clause in his contract and it remains to be seen whether they decide to bring Kane back to the club in the near future.

Apparently, Bayern Munich paid around £100 million to sign the player and they will hope that he can lead them to major trophies. The striker failed to win trophies during his time in the Premier League and he will hope that a move to Bayern Munich can help him end his wait for silverware.

Kane has started well at the German club and it will be interesting to see if he can hit top form in the Bundesliga and the Champions League over the next few months.

Meanwhile, Spurs have made an impressive start to the league campaign under new manager Ange Postecoglou as well, and they will hope to finish in the top four.
