Neil Warnock 'agrees to stay on' as Huddersfield Town boss after Kevin M. Nagle talks - YorkshireLive

Huddersfield Town set mission for Aaron Rowe after League Two loan confirmed

The youngster looked to be establishing himself as a first-team regular when he emerged under Carlos Corberan during his first year in charge but has barely featured since

Capable of playing up and down either flank, Rowe had begun to establish himself under Carlos Corberan and memorably scored the opening goal in a victory away to Nottingham Forest that was crucial in helping Town avoid relegation that season. That remains the only Championship goal Rowe has scored to date.

Rowe suffered a lengthy injury lay-off that kept him out for most of the 2021/22 season and he has been unable to re-establish himself in the first-team since then, making a short appearance from the bench in each of the past two campaigns.

This will be Rowe’s second loan spell in the fourth tier after he spent the second half of last season at Stockport County but was again unable to force his way into an in-form side that was ultimately defeated on penalties by Carlisle United in the play-off final.

Town loan manager David Fox said: “We’ve all seen how much natural ability Aaron possesses, and he’s made an impact at first team level for the club in the past. That said, however, he needs to play regularly and recapture his form, fitness and what makes him such a compelling player on his day.

“There is no doubt that Aaron can be a fantastic asset, but he needs to show that with some consistency, and joining Crewe will hopefully give him the platform to do just that.”

Crewe have won one, drawn three and lost one of the League Two games so far this season as they look to build on finishing 13th last season as a newly-relegated side
