Five Hull City players who will be out of contract next summer and what the future holds
The latest news and views from the MKM Stadium
The summer transfer window may have only closed a week ago, but clubs will already be well into their planning for what happens in January and beyond.
For Hull City, Liam Rosenior and his staff will have targets in mind for when the winter window opens on January 1, and they’ll also be looking at next summer with different lists for potential outcomes depending on which league they will be in.
While many will inevitably look at what new players will arrive, no fewer than nine first team members could be moving on in less than 12 months’ time.
Head coach Rosenior must decide whether to offer fresh terms to the likes of Cyrus Christie and Adama Traore, both of whom are out of contract next summer, though the club do have 12-month options on both players.

Aaron Connolly was only offered a year-long deal so over the next few months, the Irish international will be hoping his early season form continues and he can earn a long-term deal.
Defender Ruben Vinagre is on loan from Sporting Lisbon, but City do have the option to make that move permanent for a fixed fee next summer.
Greg Docherty’s future is also a pressing matter given he’s now into his option year and would leave the club on a free transfer next summer unless something is sorted out.
Away from those, City will obviously lose Liam Delap, Scott Twine, Tyler Morton and Bora Aydinlik with their loan agreements set to come to an end.
