Next Leeds United manager - Leeds Live

Report: Leeds battling bitter rivals and Southampton in £21.4m chase, 28 G/A last season

Spanish newspaper AS report that Leeds United are one of a number of clubs interested in Granada’s Albania winger Myrto Uzuni after his wonderful 2022-23 form, which helped Granada gain promotion.

The 31-time Albania star had a hand in 28 goals and assists in Spain’s second tier, scoring 23 himself and laying on five more. He remains with Granada, who are now back in La Liga. Uzuni, their main man.

Little surprise then, that the 28-year-old wide man is attracting interest. AS claim that alongside Leeds, Southampton and Brentford are also keen. In Europe, Ligue 1 side Reism and Galatasaray are looking.

That interest has emerged ‘in recent days’, as have ‘sirens’ from Saudi Arabia. But Granada are holding firm, insisting that any exit must see interested parties pay his full release clause – worth a £21.4m fee.

At the start of the window, you might have thought that Leeds were well-stocked on the flanks. But, injury to Cree Summerville and the refusal to play of Willy Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra has left us short.
