Leeds United confirm Daniel Farke appointment as Championship plans begin to come together - Leeds Live

Report: Leeds battling new Premier League club for electric 23-year-old, Forest tabled £6.8m in 2022

Amuzu is a serious player. Still only 23, he has only ever played for Anderlecht. The Belgian side are of course famed with bringing through players – recently, the likes of Youri Tielemans, Leander Dendoncker, Albert Sambi Lokonga.

Coming into the senior side, he has gone on to play a huge 202 times for Anderlecht already despite his young age. In that time, the 14-time Belgium U21 star has had a hand in 48 goals – scoring 20 of his own, laying on 28 assists.

Last season was his best year. He clocked up a huge 50 outings, producing an impressive 15 goals from the left. Not ground breaking, but impressive, consistent. Interest is ongoing. GNS said Forest tabled £6.8m for him last summer.

Luton want him in the Premier League, as they look to bolster their side to a point where they can survive the threat of relegation. Nice have already spent north of £15m on Jeremie Boga, but are also keen – as are relegated Leeds.

Calcoen’s Tweet [below], is translated as saying: “Francis Amuzu of Anderlecht is high on the wish list of Leeds, Luton Town and OGC Nice. There is no concrete offer yet, but at least one of the three clubs is preparing one.”

Calcoen: Leeds one of three clubs battling to sign Anderlecht’s Amuzu

A deeply-impressive player that is only going to get better at such a young age, even with the experience he has already under his belt. But, do Leeds need a winger? Right now, no. But that could change in the next few weeks.

Willy Gnonto, Jack Harrison, Cree Summerville, Luis Sinisterra, Ian Poveda, Helder Costa and Dan James are all on the books. Poveda scored for Leeds against Forest on Thursday, and there is a chance he might revive his spell.

Costa is more than likely to go. Sinisterra looks as good as staying having featured in all three pre-season games. Summerville and Gnonto will go if a bid that matches our valuation is tabled. James stays. That’s the state of play.

It could mean that of the seven wingers, Costa, Harrison, Gnonto and Summerville could go. It might mean that Leeds need the addition of one wide man and Amuzu would be a solid purchase. But, not until we sell three or four.
