Leeds United transfer news as favourites emerge to sign Brighton midfielder Facundo Buonanotte
Leeds United are now the favourites to secure the services of Brighton midfielder Facundo Buonanotte, according to Sussex Express.
The media outlet reported on its website on Monday (21 August) that the South Coast team see the 18-year-old Argentina international as a long-term option so it will be a straight loan move.
APF Radio journalist Victor Bilsky earlier reported that there were talks about an option to buy, but that’s not understood to be the case.
Interesting one
Bounanotte was signed by Brighton in January this summer for a £10million fee and has hit the ground running in the Premier League.
Despite not being a regular starter, he’s come off the bench and made an impact for Roberto De Zerbi’s side.

He’s also rated highly in Argentina with Carlos Tevez likening him to arguably the greatest player of all time Lionel Messi.
“When he brakes and accelerates he reminds me of Messi,” Tevez said after Rosario beat Barracas last season, as reported by Rosario3.
Buonanotte is capable of playing in midfield as well as out wide and is technically gifted – way more than most 18-year-olds are.
He’ll be a guaranteed starter for the Whites and it remains to be seen if he does end up at Elland Road this summer.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites need to table a ‘Convincing’ bid to sign a striker as EFL rivals’ stance emerges on his sale this summer.
