It seems like the 49ers have moved quickly with this one to ensure there was no way that they went without in the striker department this summer.
Patrick Bamford’s fitness issues are a major concern for the manager this season and after losing Rodrigo and Brendan Aaronson some incoming were needed.
Piroe has proven himself at this level and arguably looked ready to step up now, but Leeds have clearly made him an attractive offer and he could now step up to the Premier League next season with us if he performs once again.
£12m represents good value for Piroe, although with one year remaining on his contract at Swansea they probably wanted to pay less.
But needs must at this stage of the window and the 49ers have ensured that the manager has got the man he wanted, so fans can be excited to see him wear another white shirt now.
