Manchester United battled to a much needed win over Fulham on Saturday afternoon.

Erik ten Hag’s side had lost eight of their first 15 games of the season across all competitions and were held to a stalemate by the Cottagers until the closing stages, when Bruno Fernandes’ long-range strike earned the Red Devils all three points.

The win keeps United in eighth place in the Premier League table, although the club’s supporters will likely once again be underwhelmed with their side’s performance at Craven Cottage.

Marcus Rashford was absent for the match in the capital, just days after being spotted in a nightclub on the evening of United’s Manchester derby defeat against Manchester City last weekend.

Ten Hag claimed that the England international had failed a late fitness test, and the forward was replaced in the starting line-up by Brazilian Antony.

Now, though, reports claims that the winger could soon leave Old Trafford.

Antony could leave Manchester United on loan in January

As reported by The Mirror, Antony could be offered to Brazilian side Flamengo in January as United attempt to sign Gabriel Barbosa from the Serie A side.

Barbosa, 27, has netted 20 times in 55 games across all competitions this season for the Brazilian club and United are said to be monitoring the forward as they bool to bolster Ten Hag’s options in attack.

With that in mind, the Red Devils could offer Antony on loan to Flamengo as part of a swap deal involving Barbosa, who has scored 139 goals in 246 games in total for his current club.

Antony, 23, joined United last summer from Dutch club Ajax, following Ten Hag from the Eredivisie club to Old Trafford.

His time in Manchester hasn’t gone to plan so far, though, with the Brazil international having scored eight goals and provided just three assists in 54 appearances across all competitions.

The winger cost United around £82 million when they signed him from Ajax last summer, but he could be used in an attempt to lure Barbosa from Flamingos
