Leicester City ‘closing in’ on double transfer after Enzo Maresca admission
The latest Leicester City transfer news as moves for both wingers appear to be close as City look to continue to add to their squad before deadline day.
Leicester City are ‘closing in’ on the signing of Abdul Fatawu Issahaku from Sporting Clube de Portugal, as they ‘finalise’ a transfer for Yunus Akgun.
City now have under a week to conclude their transfer business in the current summer window, with it set to be a busy few days at the King Power Stadium. Enzo Maresca has so far added six new players to his squad.
Harry Winks, Conor Coady, Callum Doyle, Mads Hermansen, Stephy Mavididi and Cesare Casadei have all arrived at the club so far this summer. But the next few days could see some more arrivals.

According to The Express’ Ryan Taylor , City are now ‘closing in’ on the signing of Fatawu Issahaku on a loan deal. The 19-year-old is expected to join on loan with the deal including a permanent option.
The right winger currently plays for Portuguese club Sporting, but may find first team football hard to come by this season after being left out of the club’s first team plans. Last season saw him feature in the Champions League and Europa League, as well as being part of Ghana’s squad for the World Cup in Qatar.
The report is backed up by stories in Portugal. A Bola, via SportWitness , reports that an agreement has been reached and the player was due to travel to England to undergo a medical. Record also claims that the player is set to undergo a medical, with the loan deal including a buyout clause of €17m (£14.6m) if City earn promotion at the end of the season.
City are said to have been chosen by the winger, due to the promise of regular game time. Crystal Palace were also linked with an interest.
City also look to be closing in on the signing of Turkish winger Yunus Akgun, with the deal being ‘finalised’. The winger confirmed on social media on Friday morning that he was flying in for a ‘new challenge.’
Both players operate in wide areas, a position where City have been short on options since the start of the season. Speaking in his press conference on Friday, Maresca admitted that it was an area where players were needed.
“At the moment, we have Marc Albrighton and Wanya (Marcal) on the right side. We use Macca (Kasey McAteer) too,” he said .
“On the left side, Stephy (Mavididi) is there and we can also use Macca there. But it’s quite clear we need wingers. It’s one, two, three, I don’t know, but we need wingers.”
