Leicester City have ‘checked’ on midfielder ahead of January transfer window

The latest Leicester City transfer news as City are one of a few clubs said to be keeping an eye on the Colombia international.

Leicester City are one of seven British clubs to be keeping an eye on Fluminense midfielder Jhon Arias ahead of the January transfer window, according to reports.

Enzo Maresca may use the January window to continue to build his City squad after an impressive start to his tenure in the dugout at the King Power Stadium. City have won 15 out of 17 games in all competitions under the Italian and are currently top of the Championship.

City added nine new players to their squad over the summer transfer window, with most making big impacts. But they could again be active when the January window comes around as the rebuild after relegation continues.

According to TEAMtalk, one of the players that they are keeping an eye on is Colombian international Arias. The 26-year-old is able to play on either wing or in a more central position.

He scored nine goals and provided 15 assists in 53 appearances in the current season. City will have another chance to watch him when Fluminense take on Argentine side Boca Juniors in the Copa Libertadores final next weekend.
