Leicester City ‘on the charge’ for surprise Argentina transfer as offer claim emerges

Latest Leicester City transfer news as a move is reportedly made for Newell’s Old Boys winger Brian Aguirre, an Argentina youth international

Leicester City are “on the charge” for Argentina youth international Brian Aguirre, according to a report in South America.

The 20-year-old is currently plying his trade in Argentina with Newell’s Old Boys, and has recorded two goals and three assists in 21 games for them this year.

Aguirre, a winger who plays predominantly on the left-hand side, is the subject of interest from Leicester City in the transfer window. That’s according to reporter Hernan Cabrera of Argentine radio station LT8.

He says City are “on the charge” for Aguirre, and have made an offer for the Argentina under-20 international. While the bid is said not to meet the valuation of his club, it is reportedly “not that far away either”.

Aguirre starred for Newell’s as they beat Central Cordoba 2-0 on Monday, with the winger scoring one goal and being involved in creating the other

Leicester boss Enzo Maresca has already made clear where the club stand on incoming transfers. He said last week: “At the moment, no, (City are not close to any outgoing deals). But I said last time that we need three or four new players.
