Lincoln City Women player diagnosed with cancer ‘eager to get back on the pitch’

A Lincolnshire footballer says she is eager to get back on the pitch after being diagnosed with cancer. Abi Ringrose plays as a midfielder for Lincoln City Women and recently signed a new contract with the Imps for the 2023/24 season.

While she was out in Australia watching the Lionesses at the World Cup, Abi fell ill and was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer. The 22-year-old, who also works as a physiotherapist at Lincoln County Hospital, underwent emergency surgery and now faces several months of chemotherapy.
