Luton Town – The Sunday Morning Round-Up

Have I just witnessed the worst Saturday night’s entertainment ever?

Sat indoors, in the stifling heat, the fare served up by those who purport to run our TV companies was dross.

I mean, how can anybody, even if England are playing, sit through four consecutive games of the Rugby World Cup?

Couldn’t a couple of them have been switched

As or the Euro 2024 qualifier, beween Ukraine and England, if the heatwave hadn’t of been so restrictive, I’m sure I would have fallen asleep!

But, thankfully, there was a glimmer of brightness amongst the dark dross, Sky Sports Soccer Saturday.

Although the EFL programme had been severly hit by the international break, what was served up was entertaining fare, with the majority of goals being shown immediately after they’d hit the net.

Of course that meant we could see Joe Taylor’s excellent strike, for Colchester United, against Tranmere Rovers, with our on loan striker finishing with a deft flick with the outside of his right foot.

Joe, on a season-long loan, has now scored 4 goals in 6 league games for a Colchester United side nestling in the lower reaches of the table.

Elswehere, it was a pleasure to see Elliot Lee, now a Wrexham player, scoring for the Welsh side as they continue to try and establish themselves in League Two after climbing out of non-league football.

Indeed, Elliot is having a decent start to the season, having already notched 6 goals in the 7 league games he’s played.

But, perhaps worryingly, Aribim Pepple, on a season long loan at Bromley FC, in the National League, didn’t get on the scoresheet as Bromley cruised to a 4-1 win, in fact I’m not even sure he played, can anyone enlighten me?

Now, I wonder what delights are on the old gogglebox today as I attempt to shield myself from this, getting annoying, heatwave?

The ODI Cricket between England and New Zealand is currently favourite.
