MANAGER WANTS TO GET RID OF HIS £200,000-A-WEEK PLAYER, TOTTENHAM WANT HIM

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou could reportedly get the chance to work with his former Celtic star Jota once again.

90min reported this week Tottenham Hotspur are considering signing Al Ittihad winger Jota, a player Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou worked with at Celtic.

The report claimed that Jota is available on a loan deal just weeks after joining Al Ittihad from Celtic.

Tottenham “have been alerted to the availability” of the £200,000-a-week (The Scottish Sun) winger and are considering signing him, according to the report.

Tottenham Hotspur target Jota told to leave Al Ittihad

Italian journalist Rudy Galetti is now reporting that Al Ittihad head coach Nuno wants Jota to leave.

The former Tottenham head coach does not have his Portuguese compatriot in his plans.

Saudi Pro League club Al Ittihad themselves have told the winger to find a new club as soon as possible.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham do make a move for Jota in the final days of the summer transfer window.

We do not think that Spurs will pay £200,000 per week as salary to a player who was playing in the Scottish Premiership just a few weeks ago.

It is very likely that Al Ittihad will have to cover the 24-year-old’s wages in full or Spurs will have to pay part of his salary.

Ange Postecoglou knows Jota well, and if the Tottenham head coach thinks that the winger could succeed in the Premier League, then it would not be a bad idea for Spurs to at least try to make a deal happen.

Jota made 26 starts and seven substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Celtic last season.

The 24-year-old scored 11 goals and gave 11 assists in those games.
