BREAKING NEWS: National media warn Postecoglou he’s making ‘mistake’ at Tottenham after 28-year-old’s heroics

NATIONAL MEDIA WARN POSTECOGLOU HE’S MAKING ‘MISTAKE’ AT TOTTENHAM

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg bagged the winner for Denmark on Sunday and the national media are hailing the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder.

Tottenham Hotspur have been warned that they are making a mistake by making Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg available for transfer.

Hojbjerg was in action on Sunday as Denmark faced Finland in a Euro 2024 qualifier in Helsinki.

The Spurs man became the hero for Denmark as he drilled home a superb low strike to secure a 1-0 win with just minutes to play.

That’s a vital win for Denmark, who now sit one point clear of Finland at the top of Group H in the race for Euro 2024 qualification.

Kazakhstan are right in the mix too and Slovenia aren’t far behind, so every point is vital – and Hojbjerg’s winner could be crucial for Denmark.

Danish media praise Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Hojbjerg hasn’t started a single Premier League game for Tottenham this season but really took his chance to shine for Denmark.

The Danish media absolutely loved what they saw, with BT suggesting that Spurs are making a ‘mistake’ by leaving Hojbjerg out.

They suggested that Hojbjerg has ‘decisive quality and the psyche that all football teams yearn for’, praising him for stepping up with the big moment against Finland.

Bold added that Hojbjerg gave a ‘good fight’ against Finland, praising his winning goal as a ‘missile’.

Ekstrabladet rated Hojbjerg at five out of six stars, thanking him for coming up with such a superb winner.

Hojbjerg future at Tottenham remains unclear

Spurs seemed willing to sell Hojbjerg over the summer but just weren’t able to secure a sale.

Atletico Madrid and Manchester United rumours came and went, as did late links with a move to join London rivals Fulham.

The Dane is now set to stay at Tottenham at least until January, but his future will remain under the microscope in the coming months.

Ange Postecoglou has focused on Yves Bissouma, Pape Matar Sarr and James Maddison as his starting midfield trio, leaving Hojbjerg on the bench.

A departure in 2024 still feels inevitable, even if that goal against Finland will give Hojbjerg a valuable confidence boost.
