NEWCASTLE ACTIVELY TRYING TO SIGN £130,000-A-WEEK PLAYER BRUNO GUIMARAES WOULD ‘LOVE’

Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are reportedly trying to sign Lucas Paqueta from David Moyes’s West Ham United.

Two different news outlets have reported that Newcastle United are interested in signing Lucas Paqueta from West Ham United in the summer transfer window.

Claret & Hugh have reported that Paqueta is on the radar of Newcastle and would cost £75 million to £80 million in transfer fees.

6foot2 have claimed that Newcastle have “inquired about the availability and potential valuation” of the Brazil international “through intermediaries”.

Newcastle United could struggle to sign Lucas Paqueta from West Ham United

We believe that it would be hard for Newcastle United to sign Lucas Paqueta from West Ham United in the summer transfer window.

First of all, the Hammers may not be willing to sell the 25-year-old attacking midfielder.

The Brazil international is one of the most important players for the London club.

The West Ham no. 10 scored four goals and gave three assists in 27 Premier League starts last season.

Paqueta also helped the Hammers win the UEFA Europa Conference League last season.

Moreover, West Ham signed the Brazilian only in the summer of 2022.

It is unlikely that the Hammers would be willing to sell the Brazil international after just one season.

Furthermore, West Ham have only just sold England international midfielder Declan Rice to Arsenal.

The Hammers will surely not want to be forced into selling another of their better players this summer.

One thing is for sure, though.

If Newcastle did sign the £130,000-a-week (SalarySport) Brazil international this summer, then his compatriot Bruno Guimaraes would love it.

Back in August 2022, The Mirror quoted Brazil international midfielder Bruno as saying about Paqueta potentially moving to Newcastle: “Paqueta in black and white again? It is difficult to say. I would love that! But I don’t work in this area. I am a player.”

Bruno and Paqueta played at Lyon and are very good friends.
