Newcastle United defender Matt Targett made 114 transfers on his FPL wildcard
Newcastle United defender Matt Targett reportedly made 114 changes to his Fantasy Premier League team ahead of the latest matchweek.
The Premier League took a break over the last two weeks as international football took centre stage.
However, as the Premier League made its long-awaited return this weekend, FPL managers up and down the land have been busy choosing their starting elevens.
According to FPL Focal, Newcastle full-back Targett has made a whopping 114 changes to his team, which is named ‘Targett Practice’.
For the latest game week, Targett has gone for Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah as his captain. Which turned out to be a good decision as he provided two assists during Liverpool’s 3-1 comeback win against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.
Targett also decided to use his wildcard, which allows him to make an unlimited number of changes.
The Newcastle man started making changes on September 3 at 9:54pm, which was to take out Luke Shaw for Destiny Udogie.
The transfer was Rodrigo coming in for John McGinn.
Other transfers included bringing in the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Anthony Elanga, Ollie Watkins, Leon Bailey and teammates Sven Botman, Harvey Barnes and Kieran Trippier.
Last month, Liverpool superstar Salah was asked about his own FPL team ahead of the season.
When asked who will get the most goals for his team, Salah said: “I have to choose myself.”
The Egyptian was then asked who will get the most assists, he said: “Myself and De Bruyne.”
When asked for his top three picks, Salah replied: “Myself, Alisson and it’s a tricky one between Robbo [Andy Robertson] and Trent [Alexander-Arnold]. I’m not choosing because they play for Liverpool. They’re just always in my team.”

Newcastle United have been urged to sign a former Premier League winner after he had his contract terminated on transfer deadline day.
Eddie Howe has been busy, but typically shrewd in the summer transfer market, adding the likes of Sandro Tonali from AC Milan and Harvey Barnes from Leicester City.
While Tino Livramento was drafted in from Southampton to help bolster the Magpies’ back line and provide healthy competition for Kieran Trippier at right-back.
As a result, Newcastle look well-stocked in almost every position across the pitch. Although it has been argued a new goalkeeper may be a useful addition at St James’ Park.
