Oldham Heritage Open Day
Oldham Council is offering a chance to find out more about the people, places, buildings and stories that have made our borough.
Join us on Tuesday 12 September at the Oldham Event Centre to learn about the historic links between Oldham and Japan in a talk that charts the business relationship between Platt Brothers and Toyota that led to the birth of the Toyota Motor Company.
Latics’ new shirt sponsor, RRG, has held Toyota’s UK franchise since 1971 and we are proud to host this event that celebrates Toyota’s links with the town.
Councillor Peter Dean, Cabinet Member for Communities and Culture, said: “There is so much history in our borough and this year’s event has a bit of everything for people to enjoy and take part in.
“This year our staff have pulled together an excellent programme of events that gives residents and visitors the chance to learn about this rich heritage, including stories that are right on their doorstep but they may not have known about.
“Our borough has been the home to some extraordinary people, places and buildings over the years, and this festival is a great chance to find out about them.”
The talk will take place in the boardroom at the Oldham Event centre, Tuesday 12 September, 3pm-4pm and you can register here.
