Premier League side plot shock move for Birmingham City ace

Birmingham City transfer news from BirminghamLive as John Ruddy is said to be attracting interest from Luton Town

Premier League newcomers Luton Town are reportedly interested in signing Birmingham City goalkeeper John Ruddy.

Ruddy has established himself as Blues’ first-choice keeper since joining the club from Wolverhampton Wanderers last summer. He made 43 appearances for John Eustace’s side in 2022/23 and lined up between the sticks once again in Saturday’s 2023/24 Championship opener at Swansea City, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

The 36-year-old former England international is under contract until the end of this season, having extended his deal to the summer of 2024 in November. And it now seems he is a man in demand once again.

The Sun reports that Luton – promoted to the top flight after beating Coventry City in last season’s Championship play-off final – are “making a shock move” for Ruddy. The article goes on to claim that Blues “may let him leave for a reasonable fee”.
