Tyler Adams update on hamstring injury after AFC Bournemouth move

NEW recruit Tyler Adams says he hopes to return to action “very soon” after a troublesome hamstring injury.

The midfielder joined Cherries from Leeds United over the weekend, but is not currently fit to feature.

Adams has not made a competitive appearance since March, missing the Premier League run-in as Leeds were relegated due to a hamstring injury which required surgery.

Asked for the latest on his fitness, the 24-year-old told afcbTV: “There’s been a lot of ups and downs.

“This has been my most major injury throughout my career. I got a little bit excited when I started to feel good early on, I came back a little bit too quick and had a little bit of a setback.

“But throughout the summer I was able to make a lot of progress, so I’m excited about where I’m at and I’m hoping I can make an influence on the pitch very soon.”

Asked what Cherries fans can expect to see when he does make it to the pitch, the USA international said: “I like to play at a hundred miles an hour every single game and every opportunity I step on the field.

“For me, if you’re not playing to win, there’s no point of going out there. So I’m a competitor at heart.

“Every opportunity I have to grab three points, I’m going after that.”

Adams has previously compared himself to basketball legend Dennis Rodman.

Elaborating on the parallels his sees, Adams explained: “He wasn’t the type of player that you want to go up against, but he’s definitely the type of guy that you want on your team.”
