Kennedy excited for home return

Mark Kennedy is looking forward to being back in front of City supporters at the LNER Stadium ahead of the match against Carlisle United.

The Imps have played eight games so far this season, with just two of them on home soil.

Kennedy said: “The thing I have really missed is playing at home, we’ve had eight games now, and six have been away.

“It feels like we’ve not been at home, so I’m looking forward to playing in front of our own fans again.”

Kennedy is expecting a tough test from Carlisle, who won promotion back to Sky Bet League One via the play-offs last season.

He added: “They had an incredible promotion last year and have now had a really solid start to this season.

“They’ve been scoring goals, they’re well organised and they’ve got some really good individual players.

“The thing about the league is, it doesn’t matter who you play, if we’re not on our game we’ll come unstuck, but if we are, we have a great chance of getting three points – and Saturday is no different.”

Hamilton City have used time wisely

Ethan Hamilton feels City have used the international break wisely in preparation for their next fixture against Carlisle United.

The Imps were not in action last weekend after having their match against Oxford United postponed due to international call-ups.

Hamilton said: “We’ve just been using the time wisely, and getting some work done on the pitch.

“But nothing can match the feeling that a Saturday or Tuesday night match can give you, so we’re looking forward to Saturday.”

Hamilton is also enjoying the competitiveness of City’s squad this campaign, with Mark Kennedy having a number of options to turn to in midfield.

Hamilton added: “We’ve got a great squad all over the pitch, and we all push each other every day.

“That’s really important, and it means training is always really competitive, and we push each other all the way.”
