Report names seven key first-team West Ham players who haven’t even travelled to Lincoln
West Ham United boss David Moyes has taken a weakened squad to Lincoln for the Carabao Cup clash this evening.
According to a report from the Evening Standard, seven key first-team players haven’t even travelled with the West Ham squad for the Carabao Cup tie with Lincoln City tonight

Hammers boss David Moyes would obviously love his side to go on a prolonged cup run this season. However, it is clear to see that he is prioritising the Premier League and the Europa League.
That’s because he has left numerous key first-team players at home for tonight’s Carabao Cup clash with Lincoln.
Moyes will still be able to field a top-class team including the likes of Mohammed Kudus, Pablo Fornals, Thilo Kehrer and Konstantinos Mavropanos, but there will be plenty of familiar faces missing at the LNER Stadium…
Lincoln vs West Ham: Moyes to ring the changes for Carabao Cup clash
The Scot hasn’t even included seven first-teamers in his squad for tonight’s match according to the Evening Standard.
Those players are apparently Michail Antonio, Alphonse Areola, Emerson Palmieri, Lucas Paqueta, James Ward-Prowse, Jarrod Bowen and club captain Kurt Zouma.
I think that leaving those seven behind is the correct call. Moyes will still be able to field an array of proven internationals.
It will be good to see the likes of Kudus and Mavropanos in action and maybe one or two youngsters like Divin Mubama and Callum Marshall as well.
West Ham should still have more than enough to swat aside Lincoln in the Carabao Cup third round clash tonight.
I fully expect the Hammers to win the match and getting some minutes into the fringe players’ legs will be crucial.
