Player’s exit from Newcastle to take place ‘this week’ – Official announcement missing

Newcastle United’s Isaac Hayden is edging closer to completing a move to Standard Liège, according to multiple reports.

The midfielder returned to the Tyneside club after spending the previous season on loan at Norwich City, where he made 15 appearances, and he’s now set for another temporary move to the Belgian club.

That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who took to Twitter to state it’s a ‘done deal’ and that the Newcastle player is ‘already very committed to the contribution’ he can make at his new club.

Tavolieri claims the Jupiler Pro League side will not have an option to make the 28-year-old’s loan stay permanent. This is echoed by Walfoot, who provide additional updates on this case.

It’s stated the Englishman has been in Liège since Saturday, likely to carry out a medical, and was also in attendance at the Stade Maurice Dufrasne for Standard Liège’s 1-1 draw against RWDM.

The transfer window in Belgium closes on September 6th, meaning Hayden’s deal should go through in the next two days.
