Jamie Vardy hilariously pokes fun at Tottenham during surprise appearance at BBC Radio 2 festival

Jamie Vardy had fans in stitches as he made a joke about Tottenham during a surprise appearance at the BBC Radio 2 in the Park festival.

The Leicester forward was on stage at the two-day event, which is taking place in Leicester this year, to introduce a DJ set by broadcaster Vernon Kay but couldn’t resist having a pop at the north London side.

Warming up the crowd before the Kay set, Vardy asked: “Where are the Tottenham fans?”

After that question was met with a chorus of boos, Vardy said: “Still got no bottle!”

Former England forward Vardy was part of the Leicester squad that won the Premier League against the 5,000/1 odds in the 2015/16 season.

Spurs were their nearest rivals for the title, although Arsenal pipped them to second on the final day, with many opposition fans later suggesting the fact Leicester won it means Spurs ‘bottled’ their best opportunity to win a Premier League.

However, the new Spurs under Ange Postecoglou have made a fine start to the campaign as they find themselves second in the Premier League table.

They’ve won four and drawn one of their five league matches, their only notable setback seeing them get knocked out of the Carabao Cup last month.

Vardy is one of the most deadly forwards in Premier League history and he’s partial to winding others up too

Leicester, who were relegated from the Premier League last term, have made a good start to life in the Championship as they find themselves second with five wins from six.

Vardy, who has 172 goals for the club in all, has a goal and an assist to his name in seven appearances for the Foxes this term.
