Jerry Jones Shows Support To Struggling Cowboys Veteran

The Dallas Cowboys hope to keep the good times rolling as they hit the road on Sunday.

Dallas has a record of 6-3 on the year and all three losses have been as visitors.

But, the Cowboys are entering Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers as heavy favorites.

There seems to be a good chance they can get up by a few scores and start utilizing their run game.

One player who should be called upon for a heavy workload is running back Tony Pollard.

This is the first year Pollard entered the season as the unquestioned starter.

But, Pollard has not put up the production that many have hoped for.

On the season, he has 529 rushing yards through nine games.

He is averaging a career-low 3.9 yards per carry.

The craziest stat for Pollard is that he has not scored a touchdown since Week 1.

But, Jerry Jones does not seem concerned about the lack of production from Pollard.

According to Jon Machota, Jones said: “I’m not seeing any diminished burst from Pollard, at all.”

It seems like since the Cowboys’ bye week, they have developed a more pass-heavy approach.

That has done wonders for their offense even if Pollard’s production has been affected.

The Cowboys are hoping Pollard can get back to producing at an elite level.

Pollard was at his best last year in a change-of-pace role.

Maybe Dallas will look to establish a similar role over the second half of the season.

The Cowboys are averaging 117.9 rushing yards per game which is 11th in the NFL.

Even if Pollard has not been great, the Cowboys offense has still been one of the best in the league.
