Former Alabama running back released again in NF
The Cleveland Browns have released running back Kenyan Drake from their practice squad, the NFL team announced on Tuesday.
Drake had joined the Browns on Oct. 31 for his third NFL stop this year. The former Alabama standout spent four games on Cleveland’s practice squad without being elevated to play.
The Browns signed Drake after starting running back Jerome Ford sustained an ankle injury on Oct. 29 in a 24-20 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. But Ford, who spent his first two college seasons with the Crimson Tide, did not miss a game.
Drake spent training camp and the preseason with the Indianapolis Colts. Released by the Colts when they reduced their preseason roster to the regular-season limit of 53 active players, Drake joined the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad on Sept. 20.
