Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly prepared to renew their pursuit of Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher in January.
Despite starting all five of Chelsea’s competitive games this season, Gallagher was linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window.
The arrival of Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia and Lesley Ugochukwu seemingly led to Chelsea considering a potential departure for Gallagher.
A recent report suggested Tottenham submitted a deadline-day bid to sign the 23-year-old from their London rivals.
Ultimately, the transfer deadline passed without a deal being agreed, ensuring Gallagher remained part of Mauricio Pochettino‘s squad.
While Spurs may have failed with a late offer, they are supposedly still interested in signing Gallagher in the future.
According to Football Insider, the North London club could renew their pursuit when the transfer window reopens in January.
Although Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr have established a strong central midfield partnership in the opening stages of the season, Spurs are still keen to bolster their options in the middle of the park, especially with uncertainty surrounding Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg‘s future.
