Two Aston Villa forwards ‘on verge’ of transfers amid Ipswich Town and Hull City interest

The latest transfer news in the Premier League and Championship as two Aston Villa players close in on departures amid interest from Ipswich Town and Hull City.

Aston Villa winger Jaden Philogene is on the verge of leaving the club on a permanent transfer according to Hull City owner Acun Ilicali.

The Turkish chairman has unveiled the Tigers are finalising a deal to sign Philogene, who has been linked with Ipswich Town this summer.

Ilicali also claims negotiations are advanced for Villans striker Keinan Davis as Hull look to add depth in numbers in attack.

“I can say these are top, top players. I am using all of my efforts to finish these two deals,” Ilicali told Hull Live.

“We are in the last stages of the deal, we are very near to finishing Philogene. With Davis, we came to a remarkable point in the transfer.

“I have to thank Liam [Rosenior]. I am using his big success in the deals I am doing, and thankfully, we have the best coach in the league,” Ilicali continued.

The imminent departure of Davis won’t surprise too many Villa supporters as the 25-year-old has spent the last few seasons out on loan.

But the case of Philogene is different as the winger played very well in pre-season and appeared to have made his way into Unai Emery’s plans.

Fans had just begun talking about Philogene as a potential rotation option as the men in claret and blue head into the Europa Conference League campaign.

If Ilicali is to be believed, however, both he and Davis will be on their way to the KCOM Stadium very soon.

Hull Live claims a fee of around £6 million is expected to be paid for the Villa duo before the end of the transfer window.
