Bengals ‘Expected’ To Be Without Star WR For Texans Game

The start of the 2023 NFL season was brutal, to say the least, for the Cincinnati Bengals, with the team looking nothing like the dominant squad of old with superstar quarterback Joe Burrow under center.

Even though the schedule and Burrow’s calf injury did the team no favors, the first four weeks of the season were tough, as the team lost three out of those four games and seemed like a squad headed in the wrong direction.

Fortunately for Cincinnati, Burrow and company have completely changed the narrative about the team with four straight wins, which improved their record to 5-3 on the season, keeping their playoff hopes alive.

Cincinnati’s last two performances were arguably the most impressive, with Burrow stepping up his game and leading the team to victories over the San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills in consecutive games.

Unfortunately, injuries have started piling up for Cincinnati once again as they head into their matchup with a better-than-expected Houston Texans team this week.

Wide receiver Tee Higgins will not be an option for Burrow downfield on Sunday against the Texans, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Obviously, Ja’Marr Chase is the more important of the two receivers, and he is listed as questionable right now due to a back injury he’s dealing with, but he might be able to get on the field against the Texans.

Higgins, however, appears to be leaning toward being ruled out for this game, as Rapoport says he’s expected to miss the showdown between C.J. Stroud and Burrow.
