Report details new update on Leeds star, now left in limbo after development this week
Tyler Adams is currently at the centre of a disagreement between Leeds United and Bournemouth.
That is according to the Athletic, who report Bournemouth believe they triggered Adams’ £20 million release clause while it was active on Monday.
Leeds, however, are ‘understood’ to maintain that Bournemouth did not activate it in time, with it now having expired since those developments earlier in the week.
As per the same report, Adams has not reached an agreement on personal terms with the Cherries and has not travelled to undergo a medical, unlike at Chelsea last week before they pulled the plug.
In fact, according to Phil Hay, Adams was in training at Thorp Arch on Wednesday as he enters the final stages of his recovery from a hamstring injury that has kept him out since March.
Adams at centre of Leeds and Bournemouth disagreement
Adams is just 12 months into a five-year-deal at Leeds having signed from Red Bull Leipzig last summer for a fee in the region of £20 million.
As mentioned his release clause that became active upon relegation was of a similar amount, but thankfully now for Leeds, as per various reports, it has now expired.
Throughout the summer, Adams has been a player earmarked by San Francisco 49ers Enterprises as one they are determined to keep for the season ahead.
They are in a much stronger position to do so as if interested parties were to come forward in the final two weeks of the window now, they would have to negotiate a different fee with Leeds.
This once again reaffirms what Daniel Farke spoke about in his press conference on Wednesday, that Leeds are now in the driving seat regarding player exits.
