According to reports, the talks of Lingard returning to the Irons are gathering pace. The London club wants to sign another forward to add more firepower to their attack, and the versatile forward is one of the options. The club does not want to spend big to sign the former United forward and will look to strike a favourable deal with the player’s entourage.

The “charismatic star” has been training with West Ham for a couple of weeks now, and according to reports, the club’s management is having a look at the condition of the player, before deciding their next steps.

The Englishman played for the Hammers in the 2020-21 season and is keen on a return. He played 16 times, scoring nine goals and providing five assists during his stay at the club. Reportedly, the 30-year-old has had conversations with the club officials where he has stated his strong desire to return for a second spell.
West Ham’s Transfer Activity
The UEFA Conference League holders have been very active in the transfer market after losing their talisman, Declan Rice to Arsenal early in the summer. They have already bolstered their midfield with the signings of James Ward-Prowse from Southampton and Edson Alvarez from Ajax. They have also brought in Konstantinos Mavropanos from Stuttgart to strengthen their defence.

Mohamed Kudus has also been announced – as their latest signing after weeks of negotiations. According to Fabrizio Romano, Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri is also on David Moyes’ list.
