BREAKING: Los Angeles Rams Get Brutal Update On Matthew Stafford

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has been dealing with a thumb injury that has officially ruled him as questionable to play in this Sunday’s matchup against the Green Bay Packers. The team has announced that they will wait as long as they can to determine whether he will be able to play or not. This update was reported by NFL insider and analyst Adam Schefter via Twitter

Head coach Sean McVay discussed how they are dealing with Stafford’s injury in more detail with the media on Wednesday. He said”, “Yeah, we’re just taking it a day at a time. He’s really just trying to take care of all of those types of things. We’ll continue to monitor it and he’ll be day to day. Obviously, he won’t participate[in practice] today and we’ll have contingency plans for both situations that could potentially arise.”

Stafford’s status has been in the air all week, so him not practicing has not affected his status further. His injury came in last week’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, which caused him to miss most of the second half. If he is not able to go, it will be backup quarterback Brett Rypien likely getting the start this week.

So far this season, Stafford has gone for 2,070 passing yards and eight touchdowns along with seven interceptions. He is in his first year back from injury after he missed most of last season. His presence in the lineup automatically makes the Rams a contender to make the postseason after missing it last year by a long shot.

Los Angeles is sitting at a 3-5 record, which puts them in third place in the NFC West. Their next game will be against the Green Bay Packers before having a bye in week 10. If Stafford is not able to play, it will hurt the Rams’ chances of getting their fourth win of the season this week.
