The Arizona Cardinals 2023 NFL Season has not exactly gone according to plan.

At 3-10, the Cardinals have one of the worst records in the league and will be in a prime position in the 2024 NFL Draft.

However, things haven’t been all bad for the Cardinals.

Adam Schefter recently spoke with offensive coordinator Drew Petzing, who talked about a young player with a bright future.

Schefter and Petzing discussed tight end Trey McBride, to which Petzing said, “The sky’s the limit for him.”

Despite having inconsistencies at the quarterback position this season, McBride has found a place in this offense.

He is the Cardinals’ second-leading target-getter, second only to Marquise Brown.

McBride has the sixth-most yards of any tight end this season, indicating he is among the league’s best.

With another season under his belt, the Cardinals are confident that McBride will keep his role moving forward, hoping to flourish next year.

Pending an unforeseen change, Kyler Murray will be the team’s starter for the entirety of the year, which should be good news for McBride.

Consistency at quarterback is essential, especially for young, developing players.

Will McBride’s growth from this season result in an improved record in 2024?

That remains to be seen.

But, with a top draft pick in their pocket, the Cardinals can make a strategic move in the draft, hoping to find someone to be an immediate contributor.

They have a lot of catching up to do if they want to make any noise in the NFC West, but having McBride and Murray are a great start.
