Tennessee Titans Make Surprise Roster Cut; Waive DT Naquan Jones – Week 10
The Tennessee Titans made a shocking move on Tuesday, cutting one of their rotation pieces on the defensive line. Per Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Titans have waived defensive tackle Naquan Jones.
Jones has played in all eight of the Titans games this season. The Michigan State product had carved out a consistent role with the Titans since going undrafted in 2021.
Naquan Jones: Respectful Career with Tennessee Titans Comes to an Abrupt End
Naquan Jones went unselected in the 2021 draft but quickly found a home with the Titans. He made his regular season debut in Week 4 and never looked back, playing in the remaining 13 games while starting five. The six-foot-three, 310-pound defensive lineman tallied 29 tackles, four tackles for loss, three QB hits, 2.5 sacks, and two pass deflections as a rookie. He made two tackles during the team’s 19-16 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Divisional Round.
Jones played in 11 games last season, accumulating another 16 tackles, two TFLs, and a sack. However, his snap count dipped from 38% to 20%. The 25-year-old continued his role as a rotational player this season, with eight tackles in eight games playing behind Denico Autry and Jeffery Simmons, among others.
