Tavares, Danilo, Felipe – Nottingham Forest injury update provided ahead of Brentford clash
Latest Nottingham Forest news as Steve Cooper’s Reds prepare to face Brentford in Premier League clash at the City Ground
Nottingham Forest have been boosted by the news defender Nuno Tavares’ injury is not as serious as first feared.
The Arsenal loanee was forced off in the first half of last weekend’s defeat at Manchester City with a suspected groin problem. However, head coach Steve Cooper says the issue is not serious as he prepares his team for Sunday’s clash with Brentf
Midfielder Danilo remains some way off from returning from a hamstring injury, however. And defender Felipe has suffered a flare-up of the knee problem which has kept him out of action since the summer.

“Nuno Tavares came off in the Man City game, but fortunately it’s not what we thought it might have been,” Cooper said ahead of this weekend’s game at the City Ground. “It’s not a serious injury, so that is good. He is not far away.
“Danilo is just recovering from a medium-term injury. He is back on the grass, nowhere near being with the team but he is definitely making progress.
“Felipe is an ongoing situation with his knee; one we are trying to manage carefully and trying to support him the best way possible to give him the best chance of being back involved. He missed last week, it flared up a little bit. It’s an ongoing daily management situation.
Danilo has not featured since Forest’s win against Chelsea earlier this month. He had been a doubt for the game at Stamford Bridge but made the starting XI, only to last little more than 45 minutes.
Felipe has not made it on the pitch for the first-team so far this term. He recently featured for the Under-21s and has previously made the bench for Cooper’s side, but he has not been among the substitutes for the past two games.
