Ohio State Football: Buckeyes have one more chance at a five-star OT

The Ohio State football team is closing out its 2024 recruiting class. Five-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton could be one last member of this class.

After missing to pin down a big-time offensive line prospect for the 2024 recruiting class, offensive line coach Justin Frye has one more chance to make that a reality. Jordan Seaton, a five-star offensive tackle from Bradenton, Florida is in Columbus this weekend for a visit.

This is massive news as it was believed that Seaton would sign with Deon Sanders and Colorado. Alabama, Florida, Oregon, and South Carolina are all also in on his recruitment. This is Seaton’s first visit to Ohio State since November of 2022. It’s also the last visit that Seaton plans on taking before his commitment, according to his post on X.

Even after the de-commitment of five-star defensive tackle Justin Scott last week, the Buckeyes still have the No. 2 overall class for 2024. They have a very good haul of players led by receiver Jeremiah Smith, the No. 1 player in the country.

If Justin Frye can land Seaton, many questions surrounding his recruiting capabilities will go away. So far, Frye’s top overall recruit the past two seasons has been offensive tackle Ian Moore, who is the No. 187 player in the country according to 247 Sports. Simply put, Frye has a chance to fix a lot of issues with getting this kid on campus.

Seaton said this earlier in the week, via 247 Sports:

Hopefully, the Buckeyes can close this recruiting class off with some good news. Gaining Seaton’s commitment would be a massive win for Ryan Day and the Buckeye coaching staff. It would also help the perception of Justin Frye’s recruiting abilities to Ohio State football fans.
