Mehrdad Ghodoussi shares Newcastle pride after Crystal Palace thrashing
The Newcastle United director couldn’t be at the game but watched the Magpies sail to a comprehensive victory
Mehrdad Ghodoussi has shared his pride in Newcastle United’s 4-0 win over Crystal Palace. Goals from Jacob Murphy, Anthony Gordon, Sean Longstaff and Callum Wilson ensured Eddie Howe’s side would finish Saturday in the European places.
The Magpies were dominant against the Eagles, with a performance that sets them up nicely heading into Champions League action in midweek. It’s now five games unbeaten for Howe’s side with four wins in their last five propelling them up the table.
The Toon have kept four clean sheets in the Premier League in the same timeframe, rediscovering their defensive mojo after a tough start to the season. There was an emotional moment for Sandro Tonali at the end of the game with St. James’ Park throwing their support behind the summer signing, who is likely to discover his fate for his involvement in the ongoing Italian betting scandal.
