Tottenham have had a busy transfer window having already signe James Maddison, goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, defenders Micky van de Ven and Ashley Phillips, Manor Solomon and young striker Alejo Veliz

And they could be make further signings before the end of the transfer window with the manager keen on signing at least one more defender and a striker before the window shuts.

Ange Postecoglou has previously admitted that he wants to bring in more defenders after signing Micky van de Ven and the club are working on it.

They have been linked with the likes of Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba and Torino’s Perr Schuurs, as well as a permanent move for Barcelona’s Clement Lenglet who spent the last season on loan at Tottenham.

Tottenham hierarchy were left impressed by the Frenchman and wanted to sign him on a permanent deal but have not been able to reach an agreement with Barcelona yet.

The player is reportedly keen on a move to Spurs as well and has previously agreed personal terms with the club.

But Tottenham do not want to spend a lot on the Frenchman and are hoping to sign him on a reduced fee.

They are aware of Barcelona’s need to offload him due to their financial situation and Levy is hoping to capitalise on it.

The move was almost hijacked by Saudi side Al-Nassr who offered Barcelona €15 million, which is way more than what Spurs were ready to offer but Lenglet rejected the move.

But according to the latest report in Spanish outlet SPORT, the move to Al-Nassr has collapsed and Barcelona are now “open to negotiating the transfer of Lenglet to Tottenham”. It adds that a move for Clement Lenglet could intensify his week.

The report claims that Spurs are ‘willing to extend the loan for another year’ and Barcelona are hoping to sort the player’s departure ‘by the end of this week’.

Clement Lenglet could be a decent squad player if we can get him for cheap but the defense needs top class centre-back backs if we are to compete with the top guns in the upcoming season.
