New England Patriots Robert Kraft ‘Disappointed’: Bill Belichick Contract Details? – NFL Tracker

New details have emerged regarding the contract status of New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, while team owner Robert Kraft expressed his “disappointment” with the Patriots current place in the standings

NOV. 12 PATRIOTS BILL BELICHICK CONTRACT DETAILS REVEALED, ROBERT KRAFT INTENTIONS – For the first time in over two decades, the New England Patriots have significant questions surrounding their coaching situation.

At 2-7, rumors surrounding coach Bill Belichick have traveled the spectrum from his being involved in a full scale rebuild next season, to a potential trade for his services in the offseason, to an outright firing if the Pats drop to 2-8 with a loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Frankfurt, Germany.

Just moments before Sunday’s kick-off, Patriots team owner Robert Kraft, appeared on NFL Network, saying that he was “really disappointed” and hoped “things would be a lot better,” than the Patriots current record. Kraft also added that he was hoping for a “re-set,” beginning with Sunday’s matchup with the Colts.

NFL Network also revealed additional details on Belichick’s contract status, which had previously been reported as “lucrative,” thus complicating the prospect of the 71-year-old’s mid -season firing. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Belichick’s deal is a “new contract” which puts him under New England’s control for the remainder of 2023 and all of 2024. The report further explained that Kraft was “not inclined to fire Belichick mid-season,” but would not rule out the possibility of teams trading for his services in the offseason.

Kraft said a fans rally Saturday in Frankfurt that this was a “huge game.”

NOV. 12 NEW BELICHICK RUMOR: WANTS TO BE FIRED?

Amid a mountain of this week’s speculation that after 24 years, six-time Super Bowl-winning Patriots coach Bill Belichick’s tenure in New England is nearing its end comes a new thought courtesy of long-time NFL and Dallas Cowboys insider Mike Fisher.

In a piece entitled, “NFL Rumor: Fired Bill Belichick to Be Hired by Dallas Cowboys’ Jerry Jones? 5 Truths,” Fisher writes: “Here’s a rumor to pile on: We do hear that Belichick wouldn’t mind breaking up his partnership with Patriots owner Robert Kraft, but that he very specifically does not want to be traded, because that would strip his new team of draft picks.

“So the coach, if he’s going to leave New England, would actually prefer to get canned.”
