News from across the Championship as Stoke City prepare to host Cardiff at the bet365 Stadium

Yakou Meite claims Cardiff will travel to Stoke City with no fear as they look to seal a hat-trick of wins and further their Championship play-off credentials.

Cardiff are up to sixth thanks to back-to-back wins over Huddersfield Town and Bristol City, meaning they have won half of their 14 league games under new manager Erol Bulut. Now they are preparing to head to the bet365 Stadium on Saturday expecting but embracing a tough afternoon.

Meite said in an interview for the club website: “When you win away from home, if you can win at home as well and get six points, that’s what we did, it’s really good. That win at Huddersfield was really good and we won today, so six points in a few days, that’s perfect. It’s going to be difficult at Stoke City, but we don’t fear any team. Every game is different, and hopefully we can go and get a result there.”

Meite joined Cardiff as a free agent in the summer after seven years at Reading and he has featured in most matches so far, scoring once in seven starts and four substitute appearances.

“I’m trying to do my best for the team, that’s what I’m doing every game,” he said. “I’m getting sharper and sharper, so I think I’m putting in much better performances at the moment. I’m happy with my performance and the team.

“We know against every team in the Championship, it’s hard to win. We did it at home in front of our fans, so everyone is happy. We just want to keep going.”
