‘Completed his medical’: Chelsea are now sorting final details before they loan out £12m player – journalist
Chelsea’s Cesare Casadei has completed his medical ahead of an imminent move to Leicester City.
That is according to journalist Nathan Gissing.
Cesare Casadei, who’s just 20, is on the verge of joining Championship side Leicester on loan.
In fact, the £12million midfielder (Guardian) has already undergone his medical and a transfer is close.
Gissing reports on Thursday that Chelsea and Leicester have an agreement in place for the 20-year-old to complete a move to the King Power Stadium on loan. The deal still needs to be signed off, though.
Gissing said on Twitter: “Understand Cesare Casadei has already completed his medical ahead of his move to Leicester City. Agreement in place. Final details left for the deal to be completed. Nothing signed yet.”
It looks like Leicester will be a happy home for players this season, winning two games out of two to start life under their new manager Enzo Maresca.
The Foxes are pre-season favourites to win promotion from the Championship, so it could be great to see Casadei continue his development in a winning side.
We certainly enjoyed what we saw from the box-to-box midfielder during Chelsea’s pre-season tour this summer, but the centre of the park could be quite crowded in the Blues first team by the time the window closes. Incidentally, The
Athletic claimed in June that Casadei has previously impressed during senior training at Stamford Bridge.
Hopefully, his deal to Leicester can be pushed over the line and he can play regularly.
