Burnley find agreement to sign winger – Player having medical on Friday
Burnley are about to win the race for KRC Genk winger Mike Tresor, according to reports from Belgium.
Earlier on Thursday it had been claimed Tresor had decided against the move, so it appears he’s had another change of heart and this time a positive one.
A fresh story from journalist Sacha Tavolieri says the agreement between clubs is ‘on the verge of being sealed’.
It’s claimed that Burnley are about to sign Tresor on loan with an option to buy.
Given the rush, the Clarets have already scheduled the player’s medical for Friday.
Burnley’s chase for Tresor has been reported since June, iwhen it was first claimed that Vincent Kompany wanted his compatriot signed.
Another sign that the deal is nearly done is that Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna backs up Tavolieri’s claims.
According to the Frenchman, there’s a ‘full agreement’ between Burnley and Genk, and the buying option the Clarets will hold is worth €18m.
Aouna also gets the confirmation that the medical is set for tomorrow, so it could now be a matter of hours until the clubs make an official announcement.
Tresor leaves Genk with nine goals and 33 assists in 84 appearances for the Belgian side.
